MASHSMD members include healthcare systems and hospitals, insurers, physician groups, consultants, and service providers. Conferences are held twice a year, with a new theme for each conference. The theme of their most recent conference in Fall 2015 was “Taking the Fear Out of Healthcare Marketing.” Topics included media training tips, healthcare branding, and standing out in a highly competitive market. Last June, MASHSMD held a conference that covered topics like mHealth, eHealth, reputation management, and patient engagement. Themes for this year’s conferences have not yet been announced.

This conference is hosted by the Healthcare Strategy Institute and is designed for health executives in marketing, public relations, advertising, communication, and other executives involved in marketing strategy. The goal of the summit is to help healthcare marketers develop strategies to address new and emerging challenges using case studies of leading healthcare organizations, keynote speakers, and hands-on workshops
Topics for the Digital Marketing in Healthcare Summit include digital marketing in health, wearables, social engagement, and building an online presence. Most attendees belong to companies with 300 or more employees, but employees of smaller companies are also invited to attend.
